When you are going to be on your way there‘re several things to consider in the last few days before your departure and about traveling in China. Travel & Flights
For traveling to Chenjiagou Taiji School China, there are many different routes, you need to purchase the flight tickets (or train ticket) on your own.
The ways to travel to Chenjiagou, China
1. International Flight
The nearest airport close to Chenjiagou is Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport (IATA：CGO). There are some international flights that can directly arrive at Zhengzhou Airport. Also you can fly from you country to Beijing Capital Airport (IATA: PEK), Shanghai Pudong Airport (IATA: PVG), Guangzhou Baiyun Airport (IATA: CAN) or Hong Kong Airport (IATA: HKG), then fly from these country to Zhengzhou airport.
Airport Pickup
It’s about 120 kilometers from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport to Chenjiagou, we provide pickup service from the airport and the cost is $60 USD per side per car(4 persons available). If you need the airport pickup service, you need to send us your flight ticker information in advance, also you need to confirm with us about your flight when you start traveling.
2. By Train In China
China’s railway system is very convenient and reliable, and almost all cities are connected with trains (or high-speed trains). The nearest train station to Chenjiagou in JiaoZuo West Railway Station / 焦作西站 (about 39 km) and many fast trains stop here. JiaoZuo Train Station / 焦作站 is also near (about 41 km). You should get here by train from some cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, etc.
You can purchase train ticket online on China Railway official website or on this traveling website, we recommend to purchase train ticket online in advance, but please make sure that you have enough time from your plane lands until your train departs. Also you can purchase the train ticket straight at the station (NB this method will not work during Chinese national holidays (for example Labor Day, National Day and Spring Festival) where train tickets are completely sold out several weeks in advance.)
Train (or Railway) Station Pcikup
We provide pickup service from both JiaoZuo West Railway Station and JiaoZuo Train Station, the cost is the same with $25 USD per side per car(4 persons available).
Banking & Money
ATMs at the Bank of China can be used to withdraw money using your personal debit or credit card; please speak to your bank prior to coming to China. You should pay tuition fee by Bank Transfer, Alipay, Western Union or TransferWise (or WISE).
Currently Cash payment is rarely used in China, Alipay is the most popular payment method in China, it will be very helpful for your trip in China. You can download Alipay App then add your Visa, Master or Credit card in it, so you can simply scan the Alipay code to pay when you travel in China.
Mobile, Mail and Internet
The school has free WIFI covered all the accommodations.
When you start traveling, you can activate international long-distance calls for your mobile number so that you can make calls normally in China. Also for long-term students, when you arrive at our school, we’ll help you to get a China SIM card for your mobile, it’s about $5 to $10 USD per month.
From the nearest post office, letters to and from America and European countries by airmail may take around 5-7 workdays to arrive. Parcels may take a little longer.
In China google services as well as Netflix, Facebook, Instagram, and other western social media outlets are blocked, we recommend students to purchase a secure VPN to be able to communicate with their families back home using online resources that you won’t be able to access here in China.
Packing & Others
You can pack up as a normal trip but make sure you have suitable training clothes that allow you to do stretches. One pair of running shoes, daily cleaning and caring products; nutrition supplements and books. Daily necessities can be bought easily after arriving at the academy.
When travelling, be sure to keep an eye on your belongings. Keep your passport, money, and other valuables on your person at all times.
